Brad and Zeesh in NSW 17s
Congratulations to Brad Simpson and Zeeshaan Ahmed, the two young Bulldogs have been selected to represent NSW in the U17 Male National Championships that commence on Monday 1st October, 2018 in Queensland. The tournamemt will be staged in Mackay and Brisbane and In a first will feature a day night fixture to be played in Mackay under lights. Brad and Zeeshaan are both members of the Bulldogs second grade side and are no strangers to junior representative cricket with Brad representing the Cricket Australia U16 side and Zeeshaan the Northern Territory in last years U17 tournament. Both players featured for the NSW U15 Schoolboys side that won the National Schools tournament in 2016, Brad also playing in the 2015 side which was also victorious. Both sides were coached by Bulldogs legend and former first grade wicket keeper James Allsop. Zeeshaan a top order batsman was the leading run scorer in last years Green Shield competition with an average of 57.5 and a highest score of 150, Exciting fast bowling / all rounder Brad is the opening bowler for Bankstown's second grade side, the U16 Australia side earlier this year and will spearhead the NSW attack in Queensland, Last weekend Brad took a career best of six wickets for 25 runs against Gordon..Both players have represented the club for three seasons in Green Shield as well as the Poidevin - Gray U21 side last season. Brad in April this year represented Australia in the U16 side that played Pakistan in a six match International series in Melbourne. The U16's side produced Australia's best result in the three years the series has been conducted with the series drawn at three matches a piece. Best of luck to the boys and NSW in the tournament.
