The Bankstown Sports Club Bulldogs clinched back to back Premierships last Sunday in the Limited Overs competition.  It was a hard fought final at Bankstown Memorial Oval and very much a game of fluctuating fortunes.

St.George won the toss and elected to bat in very good conditions but they were never able to dominate the Bulldogs who were spearheaded by the lively Nathan McAndrew and ever reliable Jarrad Burke.

The Dragons capitulated for 166 well short of the expected total with ever reliable McAndrew proving a handful for the Dragons. McAndrew has enjoyed his taste of first class cricket this season and finished with 3-26 in his immaculate spell. Skipper Jarrad Burke rammed home the advantage with 3-37 from his accurate ten overs whilst giant pace-man Rhys Williams claimed 2-34 with some enthusiastic bowling.

The Bulldogs were certainly not barking at 4-35 and the defending LO premiers looked to be in all sorts of trouble. . Daniel Solway has not had much luck lately and his dismissal was very unfortunate. First he slipped going down the track then he dropped his bat to be run out in most unusual circumstances. This brought together the two most experienced Bulldogs in Aaron Bird and the skipper Burke. Versatile Bird took charge and his 31 was a very handy knock. The former NSW rep received stoic support from Burke who crafted 32 in good style with some defiant defence and controlled aggression.

Wicketkeeper Michael Stretton hammered home the advantage with a typically aggressive 21 which edged the Bulldogs closer.

However there was still work to be done and Jake Cormack was just the man to guide the Dogs home with 17 not out. McAndrew showed his versatility with 12 not out and the Bulldogs were Premiers again.

Special mention must be made of the skipper whose three wickets took him past 500 dismissals. What a performance with over 9000 runs and 500 wickets. Well done Bulldog Burke
