Coach the Coaches day a big success

A special Coach the Coaches session was held at Memorial Oval for the Bankstown District Cricket Association on Saturday afternoon, September 6th 2014. Attendees were given a tour of the John Mackay Training Centre and were provided with basic theory / classroom information in the Bankstown Sporting Hall of Fame.

The rain held off which allowed an uninterrupted and excellent afternoon of theory, skills and drills demonstrations. The Grade Club and the BDCA congratulates the coaches / dads / young adults who made the effort to attend. Everyone actively participated in the sessions and had a lot of fun. Facilitator Geoff Spotswood was at his enthusiastic and professional best.

Special mention should be made to the 15 BDCA Juniors who came along and showed ‘the oldies’ how to do the drills and activities. An absolutely marvellous effort from these young kids. Thanks also to young Grade players and U/16 BDCA Rep Sam Melham and former BDCA Reps player Matthew Lozinski for staying after Grade practice and helping out with the drills.

A participation / attendance break up of clubs is as follows: St Christophers (7), Bankstown Sports (6), South West United (2), Revesby Heights (1), Bankstown Women’s (1), and a fellow from Plumpton / Glendenning who had heard about this session from someone and decided to come along!
